- Spider-Man 4 could potentially feature Peter Parker bonding with the Venom symbiote.
- A piece of the symbiote stayed behind in the MCU, opening up the possibility for its reappearance in Peter Parker’s future and allowing him to don the iconic black suit.
- If Spider-Man 4 sets up the symbiote story, it could lead to a future Avengers movie where Tom Hardy’s Venom and Tom Holland’s Spider-Man finally meet and interact.
Tom Holland returns for Spider-Man 4 in a chilling new fan poster, with the Marvel Cinematic Universe hero bonding with the Venom symbiote. Talks about where to take Peter Parker after his MCU Spider-Man trilogy are ongoing, with development of the movie having resumed after the end of the Hollywood strikes. While Holland’s Spider-Man 4 story is still being worked on, Marvel fans have started to imagine where Peter’s life could go next based on what happened in Spider-Man: No Way Home.
On Instagram, artist @marvels.wolverine shared a fan poster that pulls inspiration from Spider-Man: No Way Home‘s post-credits scene.
In the MCU art, Holland’s Spider-Man bonds with the piece of the symbiote that was left behind by Tom Hardy’s Eddie Brock in the MCU. Half of Spider-Man’s costume has been turned into the hero’s famous black suit in the fan art, teasing a possible plot for Spider-Man 4.
10 Spider-Man 4 Predictions For Tom Holland’s MCU Return
Tom Holland’s MCU future is far from over, and if some of the predictions for Spider-Man 4 come true, then it could be his best film yet.
Why Peter Parker Should Wear The Black Suit in Spider-Man 4
Ever since Hardy debuted as Venom in Sony’s Spider-Man Universe, Marvel fans have hoped for him to meet Holland’s Spider-Man. That came close to happening, with the SSU’s Venom being sent to the MCU in Venom: Let There Be Carnage‘s post-credits scene and seeing Holland’s Peter Parker on TV. However, Hardy’s Eddie quickly went back to the SSU in Spider-Man: No Way Home‘s post-credits scene without ever interacting with Spider-Man.
At least a part of the Venom symbiote stayed behind in the MCU, and given all the multiverse trouble Marvel and Sony went through to have it be part of the MCU, the symbiote should reappear in Peter Parker’s future, perhaps already in Spider-Man 4. Without Aunt May and with the whole world not remembering who Peter Parker is, Spider-Man is in a dark place. That is the perfect setup for the hero to stop pulling his punches — like Andrew Garfield’s Spider-Man said he did after Gwen Stacy’s death — as he bonds with the symbiote and dons the iconic black suit.
Spider-Man’s first time wearing the symbiote suit came in the comics’ Secret Wars (1984). While the symbiote could appear next in Avengers: Secret Wars to mirror Spider-Man’s comic book history, Holland’s Spider-Man 4 will likely premiere before the Multiverse Saga’s finale comes around in 2027, allowing for Peter to bond with the symbiote in Spider-Man 4 and enter Avengers: Secret Wars already with the black suit. As the end of the Multiverse Saga, the Avengers movie could then see Hardy’s Venom and Holland’s Spider-Man cross paths, with Eddie reclaiming the symbiote and freeing Peter from its influence, all hinging on Spider-Man 4 taking the first step in the symbiote story.
