Tim Sherwood says Daniel Levy won’t sign in-demand player for Tottenham Hotspur

Ivan Toney is a player in demand and has been linked with a number of clubs, but Tottenham Hotspur chairman Daniel Levy is not going to sign him.

That’s according to former Tottenham Hotspur manager Tim Sherwood, who does not think that Spurs chairman Daniel Levy will pay over £50 million to sign the 27-year-old in the middle of the season.

Sherwood thinks that Ivan Toney is too old for Levy to spend £50 million and over on.

The Mirror has reported that Arsenal want to sign Toney from London and Premier League rivals Brentford.

The report has claimed that the Bees want £60 million in transfer fees for the 27-year-old England international striker.

Chelsea have also been linked with the former Newcastle United prospect.

Sherwood said about Tottenham and Toney on Sky Sports News (1:26pm, September 23, 2023): “I am not sure Tottenham would, based on his age.

“I am not sure Daniel Levy would pay £50 million+ for a player of his age.”

Tottenham Hotspur unlikely to bid for Ivan Toney

We do not think that Tottenham Hotspur will be interested in signing Ivan Toney from Brentford.

While the former Newcastle United prospect is a very good striker and has proven himself in the Premier League, Spurs do not actually need him right now.

Son Heung-min is banging in the goals for fun at the moment and is not showing any signs of slowing down.

Brazilian forward Richarlison is a very good option for Spurs.

Tottenham also signed Brennan Johnson in the summer transfer window who can play as a striker.
