While 2023’s Goosebumps reboot features a couple of familiar faces, some of the show’s main characters are played by relatively unknown cast members. The Goosebumps franchise began as a series of successful children’s horror novels in the ‘90s. The success of R.L. Stine’s Goosebumps books inevitably spawned a TV adaptation, and that show became a starting point for future stars. Ryan Gosling famously appeared in an episode of Goosebumps long before he was famous. 2015 also saw the arrival of a live-action Goosebumps movie starring Dylan Minnette, who went on to be 13 Reasons Why‘s leading man.

As such, it is no surprise to see that 2023’s Goosebumps reboot also cast some young actors with few credits as its main characters. The reboot focuses on a group of small-town teens who find themselves plagued by bizarre supernatural phenomena after a new high school teacher moves to town. Unbeknownst to them, their new teacher has been possessed by the spirit of a local teen who has a mysterious connection to their parents.

Justin Long as Mr. Bratt

The most recognizable star in Goosebumps 2023 also plays the reboot’s strangest character. Justin Long is famous for his roles in comedies like Accepted and Dodgeball, as well as his voice work in the Alvin and the Chipmunks movies. However, he has some horror genre pedigree too, having starred in the classic 2001 horror movie Jeepers Creepers, the 2014 cult horror Tusk, and 2022’s sleeper hit Barbarian. Long plays Mr. Bratt, a mild-mannered teacher who becomes an unhinged menace when he is possessed by the ghost of Harold Biddle.

Rachael Harris as Nora

Comedy veteran Rachael Harris plays Nora, the guilt-ridden mother of one of Goosebumps’ teen antiheroes, Lucas. Nora is a somewhat tragic figure, having lost her husband before the series begins. However, Harris is best known for her many comedic roles on the big and small screen. She appeared as Susan Heffley in the Diary of a Wimpy Kid movies, and she played supporting roles in The Hangover, New Girl, and Night at the Museum: Secret of the Tomb.

Rob Huebel As Colin

Human Giant comedian Rob Huebel plays the understanding guidance counselor Colin, who tries to make sense of the wild goings-on in 2023’s modern Goosebumps reboot. While Colin the guidance counselor is a thoroughly sweet and understanding figure, this is a departure from Huebel’s usual wheelhouse. Dubbed the “premiere D-bag actor of his generation” by Entertainment Weekly, Huebel has played semi-villainous jerks in everything from Little Fockers and The Goldbergs to Big Mouth and Workaholics.

Ana Yi Puig as Isabella

Ana Yi Puig plays Isabella in 2023’s Goosebumps reboot. Isabella is a quiet and unassuming high school girl with a dark secret beneath her silent exterior. This is one of the actor’s first major roles, although she did appear in 2021’s Senior Year in a minor role. Since then, Puig has been seen in the short-lived Gossip Girl reboot, where she played a one-episode role.

Zack Morris as Isaiah

Zack Morris plays Isaiah, a star quarterback whose town and school are relying on his athletic prowess in Goosebumps 2023. However, while Morris pulls off a convincing American accent in this R.L. Stine adaptation, his screen CV proves that he is not really from the U.S. side of the pond. Morris began acting in his native Britain, where he appeared in the soap opera Eastenders from 2017 to 2022.

Isa Briones as Margot

Isa Briones plays Isaiah’s neighbor and potential love interest Margot in Goosebumps 2023. Of all the show’s young stars, she might be the most familiar, as Briones played Data’s daughter Soji in Star Trek: Picard. Briones also appeared in 2018’s The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story and 2013’s Lonely Boy, although most viewers will know her from her famous role in the Star Trek universe. While Soji is a well-liked addition to the series, Briones’ Star Trek: Picard part means this will be her major role as a human character.

Goosebumps Supporting Cast & Characters

Miles McKenna's James stares horrified in Goosebumps 2023

Goosebumps 2023 has an impressive supporting cast that includes YouTuber Miles McKenna as James, Isaiah’s best friend. McKenna has few screen credits to his name but has been a major force on YouTube for years now. McKenna has amassed a massive following online thanks to his funny and relatable videos. McKenna did appear in 2018’s Good Girls Get High in a cameo role. Rounding out the lineup is Will Price’s Lucas, a likable slacker with a self-destructive streak. Although Price had minor parts in 2022’s The Mosquito Coast and The Endgame, 2023’s Goosebumps reboot marks his first major screen role.
